Today, almost no one remembers his first major cinema appearance: the Superman star made it in an almost forgotten film Historical adventure from 2002.

Henry Cavill made his film debut in the cult adventure film Monte Cristo

After Edmond is convicted of a crime he did not commit, he breaks out of prison and flees to the island of Montecristo, where he is able to acquire incredible wealth and assume a new identity. So he returns to his homeland and seeks revenge
– because his traitor Fernand (Guy Pearce) has taken Mercedes as his wife. He sets a clever plan in motion that also involves Albert (Cavill).

While the film’s adult characters play off each other, young Albert stands out from the ensemble with his loyalty and open-heartedness. Fans of the Superman star should definitely return to the almost forgotten adventure film, which paved the way for Cavill’s acting career. It has a rating of 6.8/10 points in the Moviepilot community. On Rotten Tomatoes, Monte Cristo even has an audience score of 88 percent.
