Superman is a hero who has always been accompanied by a certain inconsistency. We are talking about Clark Kents Glasses and the fact that nobody recognizes Superman underneath. Henry Cavill, who played him in several films, did the test himself.
When Superman does not save the world, he denies his everyday life as a journalist at the newspaper Daily under the name Clark Kent.
The idea of camouflaging as a normal person seems strange: as Clark Kent, he wears ordinary clothes and glasses that are supposed to disguise Superman’s identity.
That always seemed a bit unbelievable. Just because Superman wears glasses, should you no longer see it? Henry Cavill, who played the famous figure of DC in the past, wanted to know exactly.
The actor, who also likes to play passionately, asked himself whether Superman would be recognized on the street – whether with or without glasses. He did a test for this.

In the bright light day in New York City
What did the test look like? In the Graham Norton Show, Cavill told how he and a friend asked himself whether glasses would really be enough to hide Superman.
The experiment took them to the extreme: Cavill attracted a Superman shirt and stood on the Times Square in New York in broad daylight. At that time, Batman V Superman ran into the cinemas. The Times Square was covered with advertising for the film. You can find out here how he cuts off in the Meinmmo ranking.
Cavill placed in a good place and had photos of himself taken. At Graham Norton, he says that none of the passers-by recognized him-even though he was wearing a superman shirt and looked at the actor’s face from the screens over the heads of the people.
“I was only stopped twice. Once to ask me about the path to the subway output and once to ask me, no longer take photos in a bar, ”Cavill describes his experience.
Pictures of this day are circulating on Reddit. In fact, Cavill was on site and was photographed. It is astonishing that he was hardly addressed, even though his face could be seen everywhere.
Some users on Reddit argue that New York is simply special. Nobody would look around, but only pay attention to the ground so as not to be pushed around, writes ademonsvoice023.
The user Holl4Backpostr, on the other hand, finds that Henry Cavill looks like an “ordinary, large white type”. It would not be surprising if you don’t recognize it.
What is the conclusion? At least the test on the Times Square clearly showed that Superman could run around in New York without worry. Not even glasses would be necessary. Another test would have to prove whether this would work permanently even with close confidants and colleagues.
