Henrik Stenson is undoubtedly Sweden’s best golfer on the men’s side ever. He is one of the world’s best in the sport, and this year was given one of the most prestigious assignments a golfer could imagine.
Stenson’s successful debut
He captained Europe’s team in the Ryder Cup – but a post he lost after joining the heavily criticized LIV tour. Henrik Stenson announced the news a couple of weeks ago and just as quickly got rid of the assignment.
The Swede has been heavily criticized, but last night he made his debut on the tour. And it was an immediate success for the 46-year-old – who won the entire competition. Then he took the opportunity to point out the decision that he lost the captain’s role in the Ryder Cup.

It was Henrik Stenson’s first victory in many years. That it was so long ago affected him towards the end of Sunday’s race.
– It has been a bit shaky to get here, I haven’t managed to win in a few years, so there is a bit of extra pressure when you are competing for the victory, he says and continues:
– It has been a busy ten days and I am extremely proud that I managed to focus as I did.
The Swede is said to have received around 550 million kroner to join the LIV tour, and after the first victory a new rain of money awaits. Not quite the same amount, but according to figures, he takes home almost SEK 41 million for the individual victory.
He also gets a bonus of around SEK 3.8 million because his team, Majesticks, finished second in the Bedminster team competition.
