Henrik Stenson has had to endure serious criticism recently.
Now he breaks his silence and reveals why he chose the hated LIV tour.
– You can’t make everyone happy and satisfied, he says in an interview with SVT.
It was three months ago that the Swedish golf star Henrik Stenson signed on for the fledgling LIV tour in Saudi Arabia. Since then, he has been exposed to a massive storm of criticism from all sorts of different quarters.
Stenson’s first words
The 46-year-old was deposed as Ryder Cup captain and lost several sponsors. In addition, the Swedish Golf Association ended its cooperation with Stenson and he also risks being excluded from the Olympic context.

Now the criticized Swede breaks his silence and explains why he chose to join the LIV tour and how he took the criticism from the outside world to heart.
– You come to certain insights. One is that you cannot make everyone happy and satisfied. You may have already known a lot about it before, but it was confirmed. Since you can do what you think is right for yourself and your own, then you care a little less about what others think and think. Although everyone is human, so it is clear that you are affected to some extent, says Stenson in an interview with SVT Sport.
– But we focus on what we can influence and what we have in front of us.

SEK 565 million
Henrik Stenson admits that he has no regrets and is still adamant that it was the right decision to start competing in the LIV tour. He also reveals that it is not just a one-year contract but longer than that and that he believes the criticism will subside.
– I have three years. I think it will get better. I hope so anyway, he says in the interview.
