The family had lost everything when the house burned down.
All that remained was their shared love of the New York Rangers.
Then Henrik Lundqvist offered the perfect surprise last night.
When the New York Rangers met the Arizona Coyotes last night, the NHL team chose to pay attention to a special family. Who unfortunately went through the worst that could happen.
Rangers nice gesture
Rangers had invited the whole family to the game and the scenes that unfolded in the stands touched many hearts.
“This is the Baughman family. Last month, their house burned down and they lost everything, including a signed Henrik Lundqvist match shirt, which was largely destroyed. They think they are here to participate in a competition, but we have a surprise for them!”, writes the NHL team on X along with a nice video.

The family loves the New York Rangers more than anything and just being invited to the game means a lot. Then they get to receive a check for a whopping 10,000 dollars, around 100,000 Swedish kronor, but it’s still not enough.
Lundqvist steps out
Rangers also want to replace the ruined match shirt and then suddenly comes Henrik Lundqvist out in the stands to sign the match shirt with his name and number on it. A truly admirable gesture to the family who lost everything, see the video below.

The New York Rangers and Henke’s actions last night are also widely praised on social media.
“That’s big,” writes a user on X.
“Love this, it really warms the heart,” writes another.
“What a fantastic gesture by Rangers to do this,” writes a third.
