After 15 seasons in the NHL, Henrik Lundqvist has played with many good hockey players.
Now he selects the best.

Henrik Lundqvist is one of the best Swedish hockey players of all time, and one of the best goaltenders in NHL history. With his incredible ability to protect his net, “Henke” has become loved and appreciated in both Sweden and the USA.
Lundqvist’s merits
After playing in Rögle as a youngster, Lundqvist moved on to Frölunda together with his twin brother Joel Lundqvist. In the Gothenburg club, there were two SM golds before the career went on to the NHL and the New York Rangers. During the start of the stay, Henrik was second choice behind Kevin Weekesbut the Swede was able to quickly play his way into a role as first-choice goalkeeper.

In Rangers, Henrik remained for a full 15 seasons, and he is now a big icon at the club. The goaltender’s number, 30, was retired by the New York club in January 2022. Although there was never a Stanley Cup victory for Lundqvist in the Rangers.

Pointing out the best
Henke himself also received individual awards such as the “Honken’s trophy” in 2003-2005, the “Golden Helmet” and the “Golden Puck” in 2005, and the “Vezina Trophy” in 2011. He was also named Best Goalkeeper in the World Cup in 2004 and the Goalkeeper of the Times in the All-Star Team of the Times by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association at the Time’s Hockey Gala.

With that, Lundqvist has played with many, many incredible hockey players. Now the 41-year-old points out who was the very best.
– My first year in New York City, I was a rookie, 23 years old, and we had Jaromir Jagr in our team. He won the shooting league that year. He was already a legend. It was very cool to come here my first year in the league and have the opportunity to get up close and observe him, how he practiced, how he approached games. So he’s probably one of the best players I’ve ever played with, says Henke in the podcast “The Steam Room”.
