Henrik Lundqvist was back on the ice again after three years.
Then he outwitted Peter Forsberg, who lies flat after the match.
– It’s nothing new, says “Foppa” according to Sportbladet.
The “Hockey Hall of Fame” ceremonies are taking place in Toronto, Canada at the moment. One of those elected to the Hall of Fame this year is none other than a Swede Henrik Lundqvistwho was forced to end his hockey career in 2020.
Lundqvist’s comeback
In connection with the ceremony, a match was played as usual, on the night of Monday Swedish time, for those elected to the Hall of Fame. The match is called “Legend’s Classic” and is played together with other hockey legends. Then “Henke” Lundqvist was back on the ice again for the first time in three years in a match context. Other legends who took part in the match included Pierre Turgeon, Adam Oates, Ryan Getzlaf and himself Peter Forsberg.

Lundqvist tells Sportbladet that the build-up before tonight’s match did not look like the build-up during his professional career.
– We loaded up a little differently for this match than others we have played together, hehe. It was hamburgers for breakfast at one o’clock today. I had a very fun evening with family and friends yesterday, and towards the end of the hour Peter also showed up. So it was quite a while, says Henke to the evening newspaper.
Forsberg’s defeat
After three years without a match, many probably expected a slumping Lundqvist. But the “King of New York” showed once again where the cupboard should stand, and kept the scoreless in the match. He also saved several penalties, including “Foppas”.
– The old competitive instincts took over again. I didn’t want to let any pucks in. In general, I felt especially tagged during the punishments. I have missed that challenge against a single player. But the fact that I took Peter’s punishment felt extra cool. It was the perfect ending, I followed him throughout my upbringing, says Henke.

In addition to the penalty, Forsberg also had a good position during the match, but Lundqvist also saved that shot. After “Legend’s Classic”, Foppa admitted defeat.
– It was not possible to score on him this time either. It’s nothing new and he obviously still has it in him, says Peter.
