Henrik Lundqvist was forced to end his career due to heart problems.
This weekend he had a very emotional meeting with a 14-year-old boy who went through the same thing.
Then “Henke” once again showed his big heart to the entire hockey world.
It was with great sadness that Henrik Lundqvist was forced to end his hockey career early in 2021. Due to heart problems, the great goaltender could not continue playing in the NHL anymore and put his skates on the shelf to then undergo heart surgery.

Since then, “Henke” has remained in the NHL and has become a television expert at TNT, where he gets to talk about the world’s best hockey league every night. Lundqvist enjoys it, but every now and then he is reminded again of the tough heart problems.

This weekend, the goalie icon became it in the most beautiful way. When he suddenly met 14-year-olds Brennan Rosenberg in conjunction with the Stanley Cup Final between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Florida Panthers.

Special meeting
Brennan was on hand to watch his beloved Vegan Golden Knights when he unexpectedly came face to face with Henrik Lundqvist himself. The 14-year-old went through two heart operations and has had the Swede as a great role model during the difficult time.
– I was so “starstruck”. I said he was an inspiration to me, I showed him my heart. I asked for a picture and he was super nice, says Brennan according to nhl.com.

The 14-year-old lifted up his Golden Knights jersey and proudly showed the scar to Lundqvist. His father Derek Rosenberg reveals that the New York Rangers goaltending hero was touched and really made time for Brennan.
– He was very kind because he was in a hurry for the TV broadcast, says Derek in the interview.

Henrik Lundqvist posed for pictures and told the boy that he was proud of him for getting through this, see the video below.
– He told me that he had gone through the same thing and that I was a great inspiration for him during the tough time. It was really special and I saw that it became extremely emotional for his father. It was a very special moment for me too, Henke himself admits in the TNT broadcast.
14-year-old Brennan can never play any sport again because of his heart problems, but now wants to become an expert commentator just like Henrik Lundqvist. He is completely crazy about sports and the meeting with the Swedish goalkeeper icon will live on for a long time, admits the father Derek.
