Games in big clubs like Celtic, Manchester United and Barcelona.
So it should be difficult for Henrik Larsson to name his very best teammate.
But he doesn’t hesitate for a second – and it’s hard to argue against him.
For a few years, Henrik Larsson was one of the world’s absolute best goalscorers. He had the speed and game sense, and he could score in just about any way. It didn’t matter if the ball was on his left or right foot, or if he had to use his forehead. It was, pretty much always, goals anyway.
Incredible career
Henrik Larsson had his international breakthrough in the Netherlands, but it was at Celtic that his career really took off. Henrik Larsson won the Golden Shoe, and became a legendary cult player in Scotland with his enormous goalscoring. Larsson also managed to play in the big clubs Barcelona and Manchester United before his career ended.
Larsson was also a regular in the Swedish national team, where he had an impressive goal average. During the many years in top European football, Larsson managed to play with a number of legendary players. Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the national team, of course, but also players like Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Ronaldinho, Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney… Yes, the list can be made very long.

Best teammate
But if he himself gets to choose, it is one of all the icons that stands out. A few years ago, Larsson was interviewed in the football association Grunden Bois’s own newspaper. He then got a question about who was really the very best he played with, and he doesn’t seem to have to think for very long.
– It’s Ronaldinho, says Larsson.
Ronaldinho was for a few years one of the world’s absolute best players, known for always offering the little extra and for always playing with a smile on his face. During his time in Barcelona, Ronaldinho and Larsson became friends, and the brass also looked up to Larsson. It even went so far that Ronaldinho regularly used the nickname “idol” to talk to Larsson.
