Henrik Blind nominated to the EU Parliament

A few weeks ago, Henrik Blind announced that he is dropping out as spokesperson candidate for the Green Party.

But Jokkmokk’s municipal council can instead get a seat in the EU Parliament. The Green Party has proposed 40 names on the party’s list to the EU Parliament, of which Henrik Blind is found in place number ten.

“When the Swedish government fails, the EU is more important than ever, which drives the stagnant climate and forest policy in Sweden. We must also have a transition that is fair and that does not come at the expense of biodiversity and human rights. That’s why I’m running for next year’s elections to the EU Parliament,” he writes on social media.

At the beginning of December, a vote among the party members is expected to determine the final placement of the first ten names on the list.

The European Parliament consists of a total of 705 members and Sweden has 21 seats.

“I feel proud and happy to have been proposed by the National Election Committee.
