Helsinki based Seagulls got the player from Ukraine the players

Ukrainian national team player Ivan Tkatshenko moves to Seagulls in Helsinki.

Helsinki Seagulls, who plays in the men’s basketball league, attached a Ukrainian to his team Ivan Tkatshenkon, who has played in his home main series for eight seasons. The 24-year-old back made his debut for the national team last week when Ukraine faced Spain in the World Cup qualifiers.

– In the last few meters, we wanted to further strengthen our team, and at the same time we had the opportunity to help one player and his family in this creepy situation in Ukraine. The man is in good shape and just played against Spain in the Ukrainian national team shirt, Seagulls head coach Jussi Laakso said in a statement.

Tkatshenko has recorded averages of 9.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.4 exploits this season, but those turned into secondary things last week when Russia attacked the player’s homeland.

Seagulls will look for suitable reinforcement and will be able to help the player and his family anyway.

– The coaches told us about a player for the Ukrainian national team that would be suitable for our team, and we immediately gave him the green light, because it seemed important to do even such a small concrete act to show our support for the Ukrainians, the main owners of Seagulls Tendon and Sinikka Kulvik opened.

– We are now working with a coach and an agent to bring Ivan’s wife and little baby safe from Ukraine. Of course, this little act will not change the world, but things will change for this one family, Janne Kulvik explained.

Seagulls is third in the series and will visit Tampere’s Pyrinto on Friday.
