Helsingborg’s striker Muhsin confirms: Chooses game for Iraq

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

Helsingborg’s Swedish striker Amar Mushin, with a mother from Bosnia and a father from Iraq, has decided: He chooses to play for Iraq. He confirms this in a video together with Iraq’s mediaresponsible Mohammed Imad.
– I long to see you Iraqi fans. God willing, it will be fun to play for you, says Muhsin in the video.

Amar Muhsin has become a household name for the Swedish football public this year, after scoring a goal in the Superettan for AFC Eskilstuna and then continuing on the same track after the move to the Allsvenskan and Helsingborg. Now his achievements have led him all the way to the Iraq national team.

Could choose between three national teams

Amar Muhsin was born and raised in Gothenburg, but has a father from Iraq and a mother from Bosnia. He has thus had the opportunity to choose between three national teams. In an Instagram video from the Iraqi site Iraqiproplayers – which monitors Iraqi football and has close to 1 million followers – Iraq’s media manager Mohammed Imad is seen together with Muhsin, on location in Stockholm. Imad explains that he is standing in Sweden’s capital with a surprise for the Iraqi fans, whereupon Muhsin says:

– Nice to meet Mohammed here in Stockholm. Can’t wait to see you Iraqi fans and all. God willing, it will be fun to play for you. I want to thank everyone and show my appreciation to Iraqi fans and supporters.

Mohammed Imad and his colleagues in Iraq will now begin work on getting the passport and all the paperwork in order for Muhsin, and hopefully he will be eligible for selection before the November muster. Then Iraq will play a total of four international matches, when they face Mexico, Ecuador, Belgium and Costa Rica.
