We reassure you right away, this is not an overpriced stay. This time the trip is completely free and it’s no joke! As the end of year holidays approach, Santa Claus and his elves need extra little hands to be able to sort all the letters from children and adults they receive around the world. To help them in this tedious task, the Airbnb platform had the idea of offering a unique stay to families in the official post office and in Santa’s house, from December 18 to 21, 2023.
A free and 100% exotic stay
In return, and to make the experience a little more magical, travelers will be able to sleep for free in Santa’s cabin, in the middle of the polar circle, a few meters from the post office. If you accept the mission, you will have to roll up your sleeves and undergo accelerated training to become an operational elf. You will have to receive all the mail received, check if their senders have been good, and you will have the chance to discover behind the scenes of the legendary post office. Certain rules must also be respected: ask Santa’s consent to take a photo with him, wear the traditional elves’ outfit and take off your shoes before entering the door of the famous cabin.
This work will not be your only pleasure. You can fully enjoy your experience in Finland by eating Finnish specialties at your own expense, going snowmobiling and enjoying an outdoor sauna, and going in search of the Northern Lights. “It’s a real immersion in the holiday spirit,” says Amanda Cupples, general manager for Northern Europe at Airbnb.

The stay in Santa’s cabin, offered by Airbnb, is free, with breakfasts and dinners included. Transport is also. “Travelers will receive free return tickets to Rovaniemi from London Heathrow Airport with Finnair, offered by Visit Finland,” indicates the platform in its press release. The offer has been designed for a family, with a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children.
