The women’s national football team will open their EC qualifiers away in Norway on April 5. Helmarit will play its first home match on April 9 against Italy in Helsinki.
In addition to Helsinki, Helmarit plays its home matches in Tampere and Turku. The team will face Holland in Tampere and Norway in Turku. All home matches in Finland start at 19:00.
Last fall, Helmarit moved up to the A-league in the Nations League. The group winners and runners-up of the A-League of the European Championship qualifiers will receive a direct place in the European Championship final tournament to be played in Switzerland in the summer of 2025. Group threes and fours play for a place in the further qualifiers.
The Helmarie group was drawn on Tuesday, and the head coach Marko Saloranta considers his team’s EC qualifying group “a tough but relatively favorable draw”.
– Overall, I am satisfied with the draw result. Holland is a very pleasant opponent for the first basket, and for the second basket we would rather take Italy than, for example, England. In the third basket, instead, there would have been a couple of opponents more favorable than Norway, Saloranta commented after the draw.
All of Helmarien’s EC qualifying matches are shown live on channels.
