Helldivers 2 players think they’ve figured out the robots’ destination – and it’s not the Over-Earth

In the past few weeks, players in Helldivers 2 have had to fend off a robot attack. Now one player believes that the above-earth wasn’t the goal at all.

In Helldivers 2 there are currently two enemy factions, the Robots and the Terminids. The robots launched an offensive in February and attacked various planets. Meanwhile, there was a general order to repel the robot attacks and play at least 8 defensive campaigns.

The brave Helldivers and Über-Citizens naturally assumed that the robots wanted to disrupt the peace and democracy of the Over-Earth, but a Reddit user has now expressed the suspicion that the evil machines have a completely different plan.

Player believes robots want to reach the cyborgs

What does the user think the robots’ plan is? The user has the theory that the robots are not moving in the direction of the over-earth and are instead trying to reach the planet Cyberstan in the Validis Sector.

He goes on to say that the robots there are trying to reach their “masters” and it is our job to prevent that.

What is Cyberstan all about? Although we haven’t been active in the Validis Sector in Helldivers 2, the planet Cyberstan is well known to players of the first part.

In Helldivers 1, Cyberstan was known as the home planet of the cyborgs. The Cyborgs, similar to the Robots, are a hostile faction consisting of former humans who waged a rebellion against the Over-Earth and were obsessed with the cybernetic augmentation of their bodies.

Did the cyborgs create the robots? That’s just the Reddit user’s theory. We currently know nothing about the origin of the robots and cannot say whether they are actually their “masters”.

The faction’s description on the PlayStation website simply states: “Their origins remain a mystery, but their incredible hatred of freedom makes them a danger to all citizens of the Over-Earth.”

Nevertheless, the cyborgs and the robots do have some similarities. For example, in both factions there are enemy types called “Berserker” and “Hulk”. In addition, both the cyborgs and the robots have heavily armed tanks in their ranks.

Couldn’t the over-earth also be the origin of the robots? Theoretically yes, even if the Helldiver authorities wouldn’t admit it of course.

The over-earth has advanced technology, as shown by tactical equipment such as the railgun or the shield generator backpack. The Helldivers’ spaceships are also very technologically advanced.

The Helldivers also have heavily armed mechs, i.e. large robot-like machines that can be used in combat. Although you can’t control these mechs in Helldivers 2 yet, there are indications that they will be added to the game in a future update: You may soon be able to fight in mechs in Helldivers 2, a video gives hope
