Helldivers 2 is so popular that the servers are completely overloaded with so many players. However, with the new patch a new feature has been integrated that should help AFK players no longer clog up the game.
Helldivers 2 is a hugely successful co-op shooter on Steam and PS5. However, the enormous rush led to full servers, meaning that many players could no longer get into the game without waiting.
Once you finally made it into the game, numerous players apparently didn’t want to give up their place.
So many simply stayed AFK in Helldivers 2 for hours or even whole days so as not to get stuck in a queue again.
Here is a trailer for Helldivers 2:
New patch frees the servers from AFK players
However, a new update is now intended to counteract this strategy and kick the absent players out of Helldivers 2 after a certain time in order to have more breathing room for the people who are actually gaming.
What kind of update is this? Today, February 22, 2024, patch 1.000.11 was released in Helldivers 2, which brought various fixes. The patch notes have been published in full on Steam.
Among the problem solutions you will also find a function that kicks players out of the game and into the title screen if they are inactive for more than 15 minutes.
The developers are responding to player feedback, as such a feature has already been requested several times within the community.
What else did the patch bring? There are also other bug fixes and crash fixes. For example, crashes should be prevented when players enter someone else’s ship or when they exit from the target perspective.
The update also fixes a problem where certain online missions could not be selected on the “Galactic War” map.
Furthermore, difficulties that occurred in combination with GameGuard and the Windows Firewall have also been resolved.
