Harri Heliövaara and his British partner Henry Patten advanced to the semi-finals of the Beijing ATP tournament in doubles.
Harri Heliövaara and his British counterpart Henry Patten advanced to the doubles semifinals of the Beijing ATP tournament by defeating Mexico of Santiago Gonzalez and France by Edouard Roger-Vasselin set 6–4, 6–2.
On Sunday morning, in the match that ended Finland’s time, Heliövaara and Patten played a light game. They broke the backbone of their opponents at the end of the second set by managing to break two serves in a row.
Before the Beijing tournament in mid-September, Heliövaara played for the Finnish national team in the Davis Cup and lost two of his three doubles matches.
Playing with Patten has been more successful, as Heliövaara and Patten won, among other things, the Wimbledon grand slam championship in July.
The semi-final opponent of the Finnish-British pair will survive the match against Britain later on Sunday Jamie Murray and Australia John Peers against Argentina Francisco Cerundolo and Chile Nicolas Jarry.
