The results of Harri Heliövaara and Lloyd Glasspool have collapsed recently. Heliövaara will play the end-of-year competitions with other pairs.
Tennis doubles pair Harri Heliövaara and Lloyd Glasspool will play separately for at least the next few weeks. Heliövaara plans to play in Stockholm Patrik Niklas-Salminen with and in Basel Mate Pavic roll.
– Now there have been a few losses in a row and we have to pull ourselves together a bit and try to find ways to get on the road to victories in the future, Heliövaara said.
Heliövaara and Glasspool have won three ATP tournaments together. Last year was especially excellent for the duo. In June of this year, Heliövaara already ranked seventh in the doubles world rankings.
Heliövaara was absent from tournaments in the summer due to the birth of her second child. Since then, the results have been modest. Most recently, the duo lost their opening match of the Shanghai Masters tournament today. Now the Finn is ranked 30th in the world.
On other fronts, Heliövaara has done well. In mixed doubles, he won the US Open title against Kazakhstan Anna Danilina with and was part of the Finnish team that advanced to the top eight in the Davis Cup.
– We’ve been playing with Lloyd for three years and achieved some pretty cool things, but now we’re going to try a little different patterns, at least for the rest of the year. Let’s see what next year brings. So far, there are no plans for 2024, but of course I want to aim for top results and an Olympic place.
