A fire has broken out in a wooded area near Sikkhjälma in northern Uppland, Upsala Nya Tidning reports.
The fire spread on Saturday evening and the rescue service was helped by two helicopters that water-bombed the area, Marie Nordahl, command operator at the rescue service, told TT.
At 9 p.m. it was still burning, and the fire had then consumed a hectare of arable land.
– The ground at a clearing becomes particularly dry, at the same time as the wind has caused it, says Marie Nordahl.
There is no information that anyone was injured in the fire.
