A skateboarder Heili Sirviö won the Finnish championship of Vert, i.e. vertical skateboarding, in the games organized in Tampere on Saturday.
Sirviö, 13, finished in the top 16 in the Olympic qualifying competition in Budapest, Hungary at the end of June. He secured his place at the Paris Olympics and at the same time Sirviö became the youngest Finn in history to compete in the five-ring competition.
Women’s Vertin took second place Miila Sirviö and thirdly Heini Luotola. He won the men’s Finnish championship in the sport Jussi Korhonen. Placed second Mikko Kymäläinen and the third was Bob Joosten.
Vertskitting is a sub-discipline of skateboarding, where spectacular performances are done on a chute-shaped ramp.
