A 13-year-old skateboarder Heili Sirviö has advanced to the finals in the Olympic qualification competition in Budapest.
Sirviö, competing in Naisten Park, was seventh in the semi-final with 83.00 points. The scores were better than in the qualifying competition.
Sirviö’s place in the Olympics was already secured with the semi-final place. Sirviö’s Olympic selection is finally confirmed by the Finnish Olympic Committee.
He will become Finland’s youngest ever Olympic athlete. Previously, the record was held by a swimmer Noora Laukkanenwho participated in the 2008 Beijing Olympics at the age of 15 years and 192 days.
