Heidi Klums own transformation only reaps malice

The new season of Germany’s Next Topmodel has been running on ProSieben for a few weeks. The show started under different circumstances this year: moderator and show founder Heidi Klum had responded to the growing criticism of the format and various revelations from ex-candidates. But she didn’t want to do without the most popular ritual of the show.

The makeover is the annual highlight of a GNTM season, i.e. if you like gloating, bitter despair and fearful model faces. The participants are given a new look, which is sometimes more, sometimes less extreme. The hairstyles are not debatable. This year, too, two candidates chose to leave the show rather than undergo the change. But Heidi Klum’s own “makeover” provided even more topics of conversation.
