Heel singing divides hockey supporters – don’t shout “Kallinge” anymore

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

It all started with the club wanting to build its brand in the long term and become the entire municipality’s team. In 2020, they therefore changed their name from Kallinge-Ronneby IF, to KRIF Hockey.

And now the supporters club White Angels have been asked to follow the same line. Instead of shouting “Kallinge” they will now sing “KRIF”.

– This is what we have tried to support and follow, says White Angel’s chairman Fredrik Johnsson and continues:

– I know that it is important for many to sing Kallinge, but in any case I do not intend to do it.

“Can’t sing KRIF”

Anders Rhedin, who has been a KRIF supporter for 35 years, is one of those who want to continue singing the place’s name.

– It is not possible to hide WAR, it is not possible, he says angrily and adds:

– It feels as if the brand is more important to the club than an audience with an atmosphere in the stands.
