Several areas in southwestern Norway have been affected by heavy rain and flooding in connection with storm Jakob moving in on Thursday.
In Ullensvang municipality, a couple of hours east of Norway’s second largest city Bergen, the situation is described as dramatic by the municipality’s chairman. The central town of Odda, with around 5,000 inhabitants, has become completely isolated after being refused.
25 houses with 47 inhabitants have been evacuated in nearby Eitrheim.
A large number of roads in western Norway are closed and several bridges have collapsed due to the water pressure, in addition there have been minor landslides along several roads. In Voss, the municipality has sent out a flood warning to all residents of the village of Evanger.
There are no reports of anyone being injured in the storm.

Emergency services and police have been alerted to an address in central Gothenburg after a suspected explosion in an apartment building.

Donald Trump is now suing the television company CBS for ten billion dollars after an interview with his opponent Kamala Harris. Reuters reports.
According to the lawsuit, he believes that CBS has “misrepresented, deceived, confused and misled the public.”
The lawsuit comes after Trump’s lawyers demanded to see the entire interview with Kamala Harris unedited.
Among other things, they believe that the interview was broadcast in different versions, where Kamala Harris gives different answers to the same question.
Children who have gone trick or treating in Skälby in Västerås have received candy with screws in it.
None of the children were injured in the incident.
Earlier this week, the police were alerted to a similar case in Västerås.
Now the police are urging parents to be extra careful when trick or treating.
Both incidents have been reported to the police.
An aircraft that took off from Arlanda will be forced to land at Arlanda again – after an alarm about a fault in the aircraft’s hydraulics.
188 passengers are on board the aircraft.

The police have been alerted to a fight in an apartment in Malmö.
At the scene, two injured men were found outside.
– They have been taken to hospital now. They have been injured in the attack, says Patric Fors from the police.
According to Aftonbladet’s information, the people are suspected of having been stabbed.
The damage is critical and the police are working on the scene. The area has been cordoned off.
A man has been beaten in the Valla center in Östersund.
Witnesses saw the assault and called the police.
The man has been taken to hospital and the condition of his injuries is unclear.
So far, no one has been arrested and the incident is being investigated as aggravated assault.

Crown Prince Haakon has previously described the police investigation into bonus son Marius Borg Høiby as serious.
Now he tells NRK that the royal family is in a “demanding situation”.
– I understand that there are many questions about this.
He continues:
– A police investigation is underway. I do not think it is right for me to comment on individual parts of the investigation, he says.
