Heavy rain is expected Sunday in the Sarnia area, says Environment Canada.
It issued a special weather statement Sunday morning saying showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 30 to 50 mm, and isolated amounts of up to 100 mm, were possible during the morning and into the evening.
“General rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm are possible, although some areas that get multiple rounds of heavy rain may receive well in excess in of 50 mm,” the national weather forecaster said. “Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.”
