That’s what the horror shocker High Tension is about

Alex (Maïwenn Le Besco) and Marie (Cécile De France) just want to find some peace and study for their studies in the remote country house of Alex’s parents. But soon after their arrival, an unknown man (Philippe Nahon) gains access to the house at night.

He seeks the life of the residents in a bestial way and murders his way through the whole family. Alex also falls into the killer’s power and her friend Marie, who actually wanted to flee, now does everything to save her friend’s life. A quiet weekend turns into one for the two girls merciless struggle for survival and a night of horror.

That’s how good high tension is

According to colleague Daniel Fabian from FILMSTARTS, high tension is practical everything that makes uncompromising genre cinema under one roof. “Rarely has the mix of gore battle record, suspense cinema and mindfuck mystery worked so well – even if one could now open one or the other barrel in terms of logic that has always bothered many,” it says.

The horror shocker is also part of the Moviepilot community an above-average rating of 6.9 a solid stand. The level of violence in High Tension is indeed considered disturbing, but has probably lost some of its shock effect nowadays, which is why the FSK release should have taken place in the meantime. For horror fans, the film should be a recommendation anyway.
