Heavy fire in Ungdomens hus central Uppsala

There is a fire in Ungdomens hus in central Uppsala.
– Flames are shooting out through the windows, we are doing smoke diving now, says Oscar Davila, line operator at the rescue service.

It is unclear if anyone was injured in connection with the fire, which is said to have started in a skate ramp in the 19th-century house.

The fire is said to have started in a skateboard ramp and then spread. The emergency services have no information that anyone has been injured in connection with the fire.

– There is a risk of spreading to the wind at the moment, says Oscar Davila.

However, there is no spread to other buildings.

– The risk of spreading has only been in the building body in question, even if the house is attached to a long one, says Alexander Westerberg, commanding officer of the rescue service.

At 7:30 p.m., the emergency services were able to announce that they had succeeded in extinguishing the fire on the second floor.

– The fire has been extinguished now, but they are making sure that it has not spread to the wind, says Alexander Westerberg.
