During the night of Monday, a cafe at the central station in Lund was subjected to an arson attack, the police say. The police write that it is a heavy fire.
No one is said to have been injured in connection with the fire, but the emergency services and police have launched a major rescue effort.
– It has spread up into the roof structure. We have a large number of resources on site, says Håkan Månsson, duty officer at the rescue service to the news agency TT.
Before the fire broke out, a loud bang was said to have been heard in the area. The National Bomb Squad has also gone to the scene.
The rescue service states during the morning that the operation will last for several hours.
The fire affects bus and train traffic in the vicinity of the train station, Skånetrafiken announces on its website.
“Some trains may change tracks and buses may change routes,” writes the company.
