The alarm came at 5 p.m. on Saturday and the preschool was completely engulfed in flames.
The emergency services then worked to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings. The extinguishing work is expected to continue at least until 9pm on Saturday evening, reports SR P4 Malmöhus.
The police have also been called to the scene.
– At the moment, we do not have a criminal classification, so we will have to come back to that. Our focus right now is to talk to any witnesses and assist the emergency services, says Evelina Olsson, spokesperson for the police.
Later in the evening, the police announced that an arson report had been filed.
