Sweden won against Cameroon with a whopping 37–12.
Despite that, the team is now receiving a lot of criticism.
– I feel very disappointed about that, says Radiosport’s Annika Wiel Hvannberg.
The Women’s Handball World Cup is currently underway and is being played in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. After being undefeated in the first round, Sweden started play in the middle round yesterday, in a match against Cameroon.
Brass’s criticism
Then Sweden won with a crushing 37–12, also with mainly second line-up players. Thus, Sweden remain unbeaten when they next face Hungary, followed by Montenegro, who are both two points behind Sweden.

But despite the Swedish successes, criticism is now pouring in. Partly against the championship’s structure.
– Cameroon is an extremely bad team, if I may say so, and Sweden has this meeting through the match, says SVT’s expert Mikaela Brass and continues:
– The set-up is not optimal, of course, and you shouldn’t be able to face such bad opposition in a main round, so I’m a little doubtful. But it may bear fruit in the end, in a few years when we see that these teams have taken steps and faced better opposition for a longer period of time, says Mässing on the channel’s website.
Hvannberg’s sawing
Even the Swedish players receive criticism despite the great victory.
– This is an indication, I think, of which players you should not play with in the upcoming matches. For a few longer moments anyway, as far as the outfielders are concerned, says Radiosport’s expert Annika Wiel Hvannberg after the game.

The former handball player thinks that Sweden has a good first line-up, but not a good enough second line-up.
– And I feel very disappointed about that. In a match like this, I really think you should take the chance you get. I think there are a lot of players here who underperform, especially at nine meters. (Daniela) De Jong(Christine) Thorleifsdóttir(Nina) Cupping(Nina) Danoand I think all of them are performing worse than I expect them to do, says Wiel Hvannberg to Radiosporten.
