Two that have been hit are the newlywed couple Leif and Linda who will be on honeymoon in Miami.
– We got very worried when we received a text message that it was canceled, says Leif.
A fire in a transformer station has caused a power outage in western London.
Because of this, Heathrow has been shut down and all flights to and from the airport have been canceled.

Two affected by the airport are Leif Eriksson and Linda Olin who will go on a honeymoon in Miami.
Their flight would depart from Oslo Airport Gardemoen at 08 today with a planned stopover on Heathrow.
– At first we did not understand that it was so extensive. In the text message it was just that we would get more information later, says Leif.
– We should be gone for ten days and became very worried. We were set for us to have to go home again, he continues.
Fortunately, the couple has now been helped to re -book their trip and are now flying at 10 o’clock instead.
They hope that other affected travelers will receive the same help.
– Thanks to the fact that we were at the airport so early we quickly got help from SAS. From the beginning we would fly via Heathrow, but now we can instead fly to Copenhagen, then on to Miami, says Leif.

Expected to be problems for several days
At 03.30, Swedish time, the message came On Heathrow’s official X-account:
“Due to a fire in a transformer station, Heathrow experiences an extensive power outage. In order to maintain the security of our passengers and employees, Heathrow will be closed to 23.59 on March 21. Passengers are asked not to travel to the airport and should contact their airlines for more information”.
A spokesman for the airport also tells British media that disturbances in traffic are to wait for several days.
