During Saturday, double records were broken with a peak in the form of 16.7 plus degrees in Gladhammar in eastern Småland.

It is the warmest temperature that has been measured this late in the year in the country, SMHI states.

In southern Sweden, summer may finally have to slow down in its record march.

The temperature record was broken for the first time already during the night, when it was measured at 16.1 degrees in Hudiksvall in Hälsingland.

Later in the day, Hudiksvall’s rating had to step on Gladhammar’s 16.7 degrees.

The background is low pressure, which has brought mild air with high temperatures mainly on the east coast.
