Heat alert red stamps are coming for workers heres how

(Tiper Stock Exchange) – Inail And Cnr they presented a new tool to monitor theheat alert for workers’ health. Is called “Worklimate 2.0” and it is a heat stress prediction system for the screening of the professional risks, a sort of map with red dots. On the dedicated website there are maps that provide, for up to three days, the geographical areas where the greatest risks deriving from the heat are concentrated, coloring them bright red. The scale of danger to workers ranges from green, no risk, to redmaximum level, passing through yellow and orange, which respectively indicate a low and a moderate risk

The platform was presented during a seminary organized by Inail. With a greater level of detail it also allows you to know in advance the hours to avoid for type of jobs, from the heaviest with intense physical activity, to the lightest ones with moderate physical activity, also being able to distinguish whether you are working in the sun or in the shade. The site also contains a specific section dedicated to prediction of the geographical areas in which it is possible to exceed the daily temperature threshold of 35 degrees. The forecasts are personalized on healthy subjects, considering a standard worker profile, 175 cm tall and 75 kg in weight, who carries out moderate or intense physical activity, directly exposed to sunlight or in the shade, for 8.00 and 12.00; 16.00 and 20.00.

One is also part of the project web appfor the exclusive use of employers and members of the safety corporatewhich allows complete customization of the hot risk for various locations, calibrated on the characteristics of the workers and on various exposure scenarios.

The employer, explained theInpsyou can still ask for the Ordinary redundancy fund for the suspension or reduction of working activity, in the event of “exceptionally high temperatures, capable of preventing work phases from being carried out in places that cannot be protected from the sun or which involve the use of materials or carrying out processes that cannot withstand the strong heat”. The value taken as a parameter is that of 35°C, but it is also possible to go lower if you work in the sun or if the humidity in the air increases the perceived heat value
