Sports journalist Grant Wahl, well known across the Atlantic, died in the middle of a match between Argentina and the Netherlands. He had confided to being “exhausted” by the coverage of the World Cup.
This is a shock for many football fans. On Friday December 9, Grant Wahl, a famous 48-year-old sports journalist, collapsed in the press box in Doha, towards the end of the Argentina-Netherlands match.

According to American radio NPR, Grant Wahl collapsed in the press box as the Argentina-Netherlands match was coming to an end.
The American journalist,felt ill in the press box at the Lusail stadium”, said a spokesman for the Supreme Organizing Committee. He immediately received first aid before being transferred by ambulance to Hamad General Hospital in Doha.
According to the daily The Wall Street JournalGrant Wahl appears to have died of a heart attack.
Shortly before the tragedy, he had revealed to subscribers of his newsletter “went to a clinic from the media centers” in Qatar. The doctors then thought that he suffered from simple bronchitis.
