Often presented as the most important meal of the day, breakfast is sometimes eaten quickly, on the go… Here are some ways to prepare a balanced breakfast, better for your health and ideal to start the day.
Many of us don’t take breakfast in the morning, for lack of time or lack of appetite. However, this first meal of the day should bring theenergy necessary for a good morning.
A balanced breakfast is inspired by food of season and offers products of different categories. It is not forbidden to vary the pleasures from one day to another, or to have a breakfast for the week and one for the weekend. Opinions differ on the need to keep breakfast as part of a diet. Breakfast remains an essential meal for children, adolescents, and for those who are easily hungry in the morning, in order to avoid untimely snacking.
The composition of the ideal breakfast
One balanced breakfast will therefore include a drink without sugar (coffee, tea, rooibos, mate…), a protein-rich food (egg, yogurt with soy, white cheese, cheese…), a seasonal fruit (dried fruits, Kiwi, apricot, bananaorange, grapefruit…) and a product containing carbohydrates (rusks, flakes of cereals…). For your sandwiches, think for example of margarine enriched with omega-3 or low-sugar jams.
Before pouring them into your bowl, check the composition of the cereals Trade. Some contain a lot of sugar or have a glycemic index high, which means they raise blood sugar quickly.
