The Brant County Health Unit on Monday announced the retirement of its chief executive officer, Jo Ann Tober.
“We want to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Tober for her years of dedicated service and contributions to the health unit and the residents of this community,” Susan Brown, chair of the board of health that oversees the health unit, said in a news release. “We wish her all the best in retirement.”
Brown said that, to ensure uninterrupted pandemic response and the continued resumption of core public health programming, the board has promoted Brent Richardson, director of human resources, to acting senior administrator. Richardson has been a senior leader at the health unit for four years.
Dr. Rebecca Comley, acting medical officer of health, and Richardson will lead the health unit to “promote a culture of innovation, growth and collaboration, and work together with community partners in the growing integrated health-care system locally.”
