What can the health care grant be used for?
Swedish Radio have spoken to a plumbing employee in Kalmar who has SEK 3,000 per year to spend on health care. He puts it on lift tickets, which the Swedish Tax Agency approves.

The Swedish Tax Agency: Then you may not use the wellness allowance
The Swedish Tax Agency clarifies on its homepage that personnel care benefits, such as health care allowances, are benefits of lesser value but which have the purpose of creating satisfaction at work and contributing to the employee’s well-being.
The Swedish Tax Agency writes, among other things, that you may not use the grant to pay for a driver’s license, membership fees or carry out cosmetic procedures.

The maximum allowed contribution is SEK 5,000 per year. It must therefore have elements of exercise or other health-promoting wellness care. Because of that, for example, a gym card is approved, so are riding lessons.
But the authority also explains which rules must be followed. It is, for example, up to the employer whether wellness benefits should even be offered at the workplace.
