A brand new model of Magic Leap 2 augmented reality glasses has just been launched by an American startup. The latter has partnered with four companies specializing in health, to develop solutions adapted to their sector of activity. More and more companies are entering this niche.

These different partnerships should lead to practical uses, such as 3D visualization of clinical data in real time on a patient, or even the possibility of testing vision and establishing a diagnosis of personalized correction.

    Tools for caregivers too

Other collaborative tools could make it possible for several doctors to work together and remotely, in the context of surgical or radiology operations for example. In the future, the use of augmented reality connected glasses could therefore considerably facilitate the life of certain health professionals, and consequently that of their patients.

    Innovative start-ups

Magic Leap made a name for itself a few years ago by creating a buzz with a spectacular video promising augmented reality glasses capable of simulating a virtual work or entertainment space in a very real environment. A much less ambitious first model was finally released on the market, without however convincing the general public.

At the last CES 2022, which was held from January 5 to 8 in Las Vegas, in the United States, it was the company WithIn which caused a sensation with its brand new connected lens. In addition to correcting vision, these lenses also have the ability to display notifications in front of the wearer’s eyes. This feat is made possible thanks to an electronic circuit directly implanted in the hydrogel of the lens. A new feat in the alliance between health and technology.
