Dr. Mohamad Fawaz Dawamneh joined the laboratory department as a pathologist, while Dr. Menakor Nenwon joined as a hospitalist.
Nenwon has a background in health education and clinical practice, a release from the hospital said.
He earned a bachelor of science from Cuttington University in Liberia in 2008, followed by a bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery from University of The Gambia in 2016.
In 2020, he completed a master of public health at the University of Toronto before continuing his clinical education at Western University’s family medicine residency program, completing his two-year residency at CKHA.
“Remaining at the hospital where I trained is more than a professional decision – it’s a heartfelt commitment,” Nenwon said in the release. “By working alongside the mentors and preceptors who shaped me, I honor their wisdom and guidance.

Dawamneh, formerly the head and medical director of laboratory medicine in Fredericton, NB, has a diverse career.
He initially practiced as a general practitioner in Syria and Saudi Arabia before pursuing residency in combined anatomic and clinical pathology at Brown University, Rhode Island.

He pursued fellowships in cytopathology at Wayne State University in Michigan, and surgical pathology in Pennsylvania.
Certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology, Dawamneh spent about 20 years as a consultant pathologist in Saudi Arabia before relocating to Canada.
“I am delighted to move to the beautiful city of Chatham and join the medical staff at CKHA. In particular, I am excited to work with such a wonderful pathology team,” Dawamneh said in the release.
“I hope that I will contribute positively to the medical practice at CKHA by using and sharing my knowledge, skills and experience to provide the highest standard of patient care.”
Dr. Zeke Milkovic, the health alliance’s acting chief of staff, welcomed the physicians, noting “their extensive experience and commitment to excellence in health care will be a tremendous asset to our medical team and the community.”
