The depths of World of Warcraft are becoming more difficult again – at least for healers. Because Brann as a tank gets massive restrictions.
The depths got a big update with season 2, because Brann Bronzebart can now also act as a tank. This allowed players to penetrate the depths with a healing specialization and celebrate success. That worked well. Too good, as Blizzard thought. Because now Brann bronze beard gets really thick nerfs as a tank.

What is changed in Brann? The list of changes is quite long and affects almost all aspects of tank. Both its distributed damage is reduced and the damage he suffers is significantly increased. The changes are in detail:
In summary, it can be said: Brann will need your attention much more in the future than before. In addition, you have to cause more damage yourself and cannot “only heal relaxed” – that would take a long time in the depths.
What does Blizzard say? In the official WoW Forum, Blizzard argues like this:
In the course of the first days of season 2, we noticed that Brann’s tank specialization is the best choice to complete depths and at a large distance. While we are happy to support a pure healing-focused style of play in the depths for everyone who wants this, Brann’s tank specialization simply turned out to be too powerful because players could simply sit back and only concentrate on their healing.
Our goal is that Brann’s specializations are approximately equally balanced and that the depths offer a challenge that provide a satisfactory progress for the chosen playing style.
Community mocked: “Fun Detected”
Was Brann too strong? That depends very much on who you ask. Many have had extremely good experiences with Brann as a tank. As a healer, you could basically stay in the background, take care of it with some healing-over-time effects and then hardly had to take care of him, while at the same time you are spared the mechanics of the mobs. In such cases, depths at level 8, 9, 10 or even 11 were clearly too light.
For others, Brann often feels like a “wet washcloth” that collapses with the smallest problems. This is the case, especially for devastating area attacks, which he often does not evade independently. This can even make sure that Brann becomes a “one hit” and simply folds together.
How well all of this works is also due to how high you have already leveled your brann. Some already have Brann at level 70 – then it is extremely tough and strong. However, if you only have Brann at level 10 or 20, you will run into problems with him more often.
The community definitely does not seem to agree with these blatant changes and complains with the usual “fun detected” when Blizzard makes a change that you do not like. We will probably find out in the course of the next few days whether Brann will work as it is actually intended by the developers. Basically, the new season is well received – because many are wondering: “What do I overlook? What is bad? “
