He will save the Swedish railway – sought-after technicians are trained in Ängelholm

The Swedish Transport Administration’s school in Ängelholm annually trains over 10,000 people in the infrastructure sector. The demand for labor is high. And without staff, both existing and future train traffic is threatened.

– Its a challenge. We must become more visible and we must talk about our business. That there are opportunities to have a professional career on the railway. And that is why I am here today, says Roberto Maiorana, who visited the school on Thursday.

Mattias Andersson left the construction industry a few years ago and has since worked with maintenance on the railways. He is now further training as a rail welder in Ängelholm.

– It is fun. I think many people don’t know that there are jobs to be had here, he says.

Hear him talk more about his work in the clip above.
