Now Silver Edmén is developing an app where evidence can be submitted anonymously and securely to the police.
– We have to find a way to get people to dare to testify. In my case, we saw that it was a real failure because I became a crime victim and was forced to leave my home and live under a protected identity, he says.
Police: Preferably develop own platforms
Right now, Silver Edmén is in a stage where he, together with developers, is sketching a model for the app and looking for investors. But it can be a difficult product to bring to market.
– In general, the Police Authority is very restrictive with the use of third-party apps. Development of apps that the authority needs is generally carried out in-house, says Stefan Marcopoulos, press secretary at the Police Authority.
