Antov, who used the term “Russian terrorism” after the Ukrainian civilians were injured in the Russian attacks in June and drew attention to the attack carried out with Russian missiles, said, “A girl was pulled out of the rubble. His father seems dead. Her mother, trying to be lifted by crane, was trapped under a slab. To tell the truth, it’s pretty hard to call it anything other than terrorism,” he said.

Antov, who was subjected to intense pressure after these statements and later apologized by withdrawing his statement, stated that his statements were a “misunderstanding” and a “technical error”. Antov’s sudden death at the hotel he was staying in raised questions about whether this was related to these statements.
After the news of Antov’s death spread, Russian Consul General to Kolkata Alexei Idamkin confirmed to the Russian media that he had fallen out of the hotel window and said that they were following the investigation closely by obtaining all the information from the police.
IT MAY BE SUICIDE
Antov’s 61-year-old friend, Vladimir Budanov, died of a heart attack at the same hotel last week. Making a statement on the subject, Idamkin said that a group of 4 people was traveling and said, “Last Thursday, Vladimir Budanov died. Police said it was the result of a heart attack. On Saturday, Antov fell out of the window and died,” he explained. The Indian press wrote that the police could not bear the death of Antov’s friend and did not ignore the fact that he might have committed suicide.
