Armand Duplantis will jump the Swedish Championships on Tuesday.
Even though the parent club, Upsala IF, had counted him out.

“Mondo” Duplantis is without a doubt one of the world’s foremost athletes at the moment. The superstar has broken new ground in pole vault, and is truly a pioneer for the entire sport.
Beat world record – again
No one has jumped higher than the 22-year-old, and he has broken his own world record several times. Most recently in March where “Mondo” jumped an incredible 6.20 meters and broke his two-week fresh record by another centimeter.
For that, the Swedish-competing 22-year-old has been really praised in the world of athletics, and he is expected to break a new record every time he jumps. There are no problems for “Mondo” who has a winning skull without equal and always strives to get better. He tries to invite the audience to historic moments at every competition, and never mind raising the bar to new records.
Lines up for the parent club
This season, the summer World Athletics Championships are the big goal. “Mondo” is a crazy favorite to win gold, and has during the spring won almost everything he competed in. Now the superstar will recharge before the championship in a slightly different way.
He is competing for the parent club Upsala IF, and will jump in the team-SM on Tuesday.
It was not something the club had expected.
– But he wanted to do this for the club and compete in the team-SM. He will probably not make as many hopes, says “Mondos” manager Daniel Wessfeldt.
It will most likely be an easy victory for Duplantis. The one who jumped highest after the star has not reached higher than 5.10 meters.
