Ekrem Jewelers, 60, who was cleaning his friend’s field in Bursa, was bitten by a snake while he was cutting grass. A 1.5-meter-long viper bit the Jewellers’ left index finger. The poisoned citizen put the snake in a bag and took his breath in the hospital without wasting time.
RETURNED FROM DEATH
Doctors intervened in Ekrem Jewelers, whose left index finger swelled up to his wrist in a short time and his pulse fell, for about an hour. The citizen, who was poisoned by a snake bite, was treated in the hospital for a week. Ekrem Kuyumcular, who was discharged after regaining his health, said that the decision to go to the hospital saved his life.
Jewellers, who is married and has three children, stated that he was going back and forth between death and life and said, “The snake bit him while cutting the bushes in the field. There was nothing we could do there. I immediately rushed to the hospital, taking into account the warning of the experts. This decision saved my life. My pulse dropped and the swelling of my finger extended to my ankle. I felt the poison spread through my body. With great effort, the doctors intervened for about an hour. I was in the hospital for a week, thankfully I’m fine now,” he said.
SNAKES WAKE FROM WINTER SLEEP
Jewelers, who stated that it is necessary to be careful against snakes that wake up from their hibernation with the warming of the weather; “Those who are exposed to snake bites should go to the nearest health center and hospital immediately,” he warned.
