At the end of November we reported for the first time about the Dumbledore casting in the upcoming Harry Potter series. Since then, several Hollywood stars have been associated with the role of the Hogwarts school director. After none of these names could be officially confirmed for a long time, there is now a new favorite for the series occupation.
New casting rumor: John Lithgow is supposed to play Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter series
As Deadline reported in an exclusive message a few hours ago, British actor John Lithgow is in negotiations for the part. No contract has yet been signed. According to the sources of Deadline, the deal should be in an advanced stage. There is no confirmation on the part of HBO.
The US broadcaster writes in a short statement:
We are aware that such a top -class series will cause many rumors and speculations. While we work through the pre -production, we will only confirm details when we have concluded the contracts.
So there is still nothing. However, the Hollywood reporter and Variety support the casting rumor from Deadline. The three large industry leaves of the dream factory are thus unanimous about the possible dumbledore casting. In other words: We should definitely take this rumor seriously.

Before Lithgow, Mark Rylance and Mark Strong were associated with the role. Lithgow recently delighted as part of the ensemble of the Vatican thriller and can show over 100 credits in his filmography, from Garp and how he saw the world about the time of tenderness up to The Crown and The Old Man.

It is planned to implement every Harry Potter book as part of a season. If Lithgow is actually cast, the fantasy series would probably be for the next decade in its schedule. Dumbledore is one of the central figures in the Harry Potter universe and plays an important role in almost every part.
