New season of the Master of Masters awaits.
Then Anja Pärsson steps out and pays tribute to Tony Rickardsson.
– Tony is so much more than you thought, she tells SVT about the speedway icon.
It’s time for a new season of the acclaimed SVT program and now it’s expected to be tougher than ever before. The ages of the participants are considerably lower and we find fit names like Sebastian Larsson and Joel Lundqvistwho just recently quit.
Person’s tribute
Alpine icon Anja Pärson is also participating for the first time, after refusing for ten years in a row. During the filming of the TV show, Pärson found a nice relationship with one of the other participants.

Now she reveals her big rope sect for the speedway icon Tony Rickardsson.
– He is a big profile and everything that you have imagined him to be, he is and even on soft values, that he bites. He is an incredibly great athlete who also brought the gang together very early and is the oldest in the group, everyone had great respect for him, says Anja in an interview with SVT.
“Be everyone’s favorite”
Anja Pärson thinks that the 53-year-old was the big surprise among the participants in this year’s season.
– Absolutely one of our all-time favourites. It was so clear on Tony when it mattered, then he went and clenched his fist. He was that joker that you didn’t know where you had. That Joel Lundqvist is going to throw something over, we knew that, but we had a hard time measuring where Tony was and he was the one who surprised all the time, says Pärson.
– He is rock hard. He may have age against him but he is so fit and so fast. He is so much more than you thought and we all rallied behind dad Tony.

It was also a highlight to end each day by sitting and listening to Rickardsson’s stories and anecdotes in the evenings.
– Sitting in the evenings and listening to all of Tony’s stories was the favourite. It was hoped that we would have time for that every evening, that he would sit and tell some anecdote, Anja tells the TV channel in a very nice tribute.
