For years, a sci-fi universe has been growing off the big stage (and quite slowly, to be honest): Cloverfield. A new part was announced a year ago. You can now watch Netflix up to and including as of September 30, 2023 stream the second Cloverfield movie 10 Cloverfield Lane.
Director Dan Trachtenberg (Prey) created a highly efficient thriller chamber piece that is exciting every second – with a huge revelation at the end.
Soon no longer on Netflix: What happens in 10 Cloverfield Lane?
The action of 10 Cloverfield Lane largely takes place in an underground bunker. After a car accident, a young woman named Michelle (played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead) wakes up there. Howard (played by John Goodman) had rescued her from the wreck and taken care of her.

He tells her that while humanity was powerless, it was wiped out by a nuclear or chemical attack. Those who survived have been in hiding since this devastating event. Michelle has to rely on this version of reality. But what really happened?

A new Cloverfield film is in the works
In May there was a new lead on the fourth Cloverfield film: a website was reactivated. In addition to director Babak Anvari, Joe Barton (The Ritual) and JJ Abrams are involved in directing Cloverfield 4. Cloverfield veterans Matt Reeves and Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods) are also returning to the producing team.
