Danelo Souza Cavalcante, a 34-year-old Brazilian who was jailed in the US state of Pennsylvania for stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death, escaped. The escape of the prisoner, who has been wanted for a week, was captured on security cameras.
CLIMBING AND ESCAPE…
The moment of Cavalcante’s escape from Chester County Prison, who stabbed to death his ex-girlfriend two years ago, was captured on security camera. In the footage, it is seen that the prisoner managed to escape by climbing the walls in the prison courtyard.
After the escape of Cavalcante, education was suspended in the surrounding schools due to the large-scale search started in the region. Authorities, on the grounds that the murderer is extremely dangerous, warned residents to keep their doors locked and not go out, and called on them to check the security cameras.
In a statement made by the Chester County District Attorney’s Office, it was stated that helicopters and dogs were also involved in the search operations in which hundreds of police participated, while it was noted that the prisoner was seen in and around the town of Pocopson.
WAS SEEN TO LIFE PRISON
Danelo Souza Cavalcante killed his 33-year-old ex-girlfriend, Deborah Brandao, near his home in April 2021, in front of his children, by stabbing him 38 times. Brandao’s 7- and 4-year-old children went to their neighbors for help at the time of the incident, while Cavalcante fled the scene. The murderer was caught in Virginia a few hours after the murder and was arrested by the police. Cavalcante was sentenced to life imprisonment for first degree murder and possession of a criminal weapon on 16 August. Authorities announced that a reward of 10 thousand dollars will be given to those who provide information that will lead to the capture of the escaped prisoner.
It turned out that Danelo Souza Cavalcante is also wanted in Brazil for a murder committed in 2017. (UAV)
