In his statement on October 9, Yusuf stated that his Palestinian wife’s mother and father were stranded in Gaza.
Hamza Yusuf stated that his wife’s mother and father, who live in Scotland, were in Gaza to visit his father-in-law’s 92-year-old sick mother during the developments in Israel and Gaza and were stranded in the region.
Stating that the Israelis told them to leave the country, but it was not possible for them to leave the country, Yusuf noted that the British Foreign Office could not guarantee safe passage.
Yusuf’s mother-in-law, Elizabeth El-Nakla, who was stranded in Gaza, could not hold back her tears in the video she shared on October 13 and asked, “Where is humanity? Where in the world do people have hearts that allow this in this age?” she used the expressions.
